10 Navy | Summer 2017 Membership Update G reetings from your Membership Depart- ment! To celebrate AUSN's year of "Sailors Helping Sailors," we have committed to honoring all Sailors, past, present and future, their families and all those devoted to making our Navy strong and our country safe. We're encouraging members to reach out and thank their ship- mates—let them know that AUSN is fighting hard to ensure they have the tools and training to do their jobs well. Whether they already have or will transition from active duty—they always have AUSN to look to for the help they need. Our latest fundraising drive with the first Navy Jack flag set new records with over 500 generous contributions—we simply can't thank you enough! We're on our second bulk order of our flags so if you've not received yours yet, we truly appreciate your patience and we'll be sure to expedite our shipments once the order arrives. Please stay tuned to AUSN's website for more information about our plans for our chapter support and redevelopment. Many have asked for our guidance and we're developing new suggestions and guidelines to help chapters with their activities. We'll also soon post a list of chapters that need new leadership—and we'll be contacting members in those areas to encourage participation. If you're interested in leading or contributing to a chapter in your area, please let us know by contacting membership@ausn.org. Please note that the Mid-At- lantic Region has changed its name to the Northeast Region. CAPT Aaron Bresnahan was just appointed—and graciously accepted—the position as the Regional President for that area. Should you live in the Mid-At- lantic Region of our great country—please consider reaching out to him—you may do so by sending email to info@ausn.org. Brian B. Bauman is the Director of Membership and Marketing at AUSN. He can be reached at brian.bauman@ausn.org.
