JEFF MALET PHOTOS A USN joined with Alexandria's Mayor Allison Silberberg to officially open AUSN's headquarters Sept. 28 aer moving from the King St. location over the summer. AUSN has been serving our Sailors since 1957, and had been in the Old Town area since 1985. "We've had a great deal of change over the last year," said VADM Lou Crenshaw, AUSN's Chairman of the Board of Directors. "ese changes will help make AUSN stronger as we chart our course at our Annual Business Meetings, but we owe our guest speaker, Mayor Allison Silberberg, a debt of grati- tude for her tireless support, first as the Vice Mayor of Alexandria, and now as our esteemed mayor. She was very instrumental in helping to cra the sale of our 1619 King St. address so that it was the best situation for the city, which allowed us to move to a new and modern phase, reflected in our new offices here at Cameron Run office park." "We are a country who owes you a debt of gratitude, and we are so lucky as a city to have you here," said Silberberg. "So many of our citizens in our community are Veterans...who are near and dear to my heart. Veterans are 12% of our city, and if you count caregivers, it could be as high as 20% or more.
